This was a bit of a nightmare to hook up – the old PayPal plugin worked a treat and after updating to this plugin (required before 1 Sept.), we’ve had 2 major faults where clients were unable to check out with no indication as to why (just says “Something went wrong. Please try again or choose another payment source.”).
The other issue is on another client’s website where I can connect with my PayPal business credentials perfectly, however when they enter their login and go through the automated setup process, the page refreshes and no data has been stored and no error message. Manual input does the same thing (no error messages and no details stored) – works for my business details, doesn’t work for theirs. The client even contacted PayPal who verified that the account was perfectly configured for WooCommerce integration and had no other information to give.
I contacted this plugin’s support team through WooCommerce who blamed the PayPal account configuration, and after I verified that everything is set up correctly and asked them what needs to be configured, they blamed the PayPal setup again without offering any information on WHAT EXACTLY needs to be configured for this plugin to work.
With the developers who built this having no clue, and losing money and faith due to visitors unable to check out, I’d give this a STRONG skip for now – we reverted to the old plugin on one site and the out-of-box WooCommerce PayPal functionality on another – I won’t be using this anytime soon.
