UM content restriction on child theme page templates?

Dear support forum members,

I am using ULTIMATE MEMBER on my website with the SALIENT template installed. For Salient, I have created a child-theme with several page templates.
Once I assign a page template to a page (instead of the default template), the Ultimate Member plugin content restriction (I do only want admins and subscribers view the content) is not working anymore.
The UM content restriction works fine when the default template is assigned to the page.

Where do I need to make necessary code changes, e.g. in functions.php of the child theme, to make the UM plugin and content restriction work?
