Cannot reach a network site: “server IP address could not be found”

Hello,

I have created a network and set up a new site with sub-domain, but if I try to open dashboard of the new site it says “This site can’t be reached. [new site’s URL]’s server IP address could not be found.”

I’ve found some similar problems on this forum, and the answers always say “it’s a DNS issue” or the like. But quite honestly speaking, I don’t know anything about DNS, or more precisely, I don’t know what DNS is.

Could anyone show me steps to follow to fix this problem without saying like “fix your DNS”, please?
