I’ve been using WordFence for years on the sites I create/manage. I am a solid 4.5 out of 10 as far as web-savvy goes, which is why I have trusted these folks all-along.
A few days ago, we had an event that seemed to indicate that we were hacked. I immediately contacted WordFence (premium subscription), and they were helpful from the start, and then shifted us to their Security Service Team (SST).
The SST was, for lack of a better term, ‘ON IT’, and did a deep dive into our site and hosting to root out the problem(s). Multiple emails and constant updates, and just service that is uncommonly good in this arena.
Turns out that the issue was created by ‘a user’… I am not able to give the details, but it was resolved.

If you rely on your site to generate revenue, and don’t have WordFence (and by that I mean the SMALL amount to pay per year to have Premium Service), you are making a mistake; potentially a very large one.
