filter categories

I have categories shown under every post but when you click on one of them I come to a new page showing the filtered posts but I don’t like the looks of this new page. Isn’t there a way to filter the main blog page directly, so when I click a tag the page looks the same, the posts looks tha same but it only shows the posts with the chosen category.
