I have seen a number of plugins that allow administrators to disable user accounts for various purposes.
However, I haven’t seen anything that allows a user themselves to disable and then later re-enable their own accounts.
This would be particularly useful in situations where a user wants to disable their own account because they want to preserve their own privacy.
With user privacy being such a concern these days, I’m surprised I haven’t found anything to meet this need without involving the site’s admins.
Of course, it would be necessary for admins to be able to permanently block the user, so that would require an extra layer of protection.
But my question is this: does anyone know of a plugin that would allow users to disable their own accounts on demand and then re-enable them later on if they changed their mind and decided to use them once again?
