I absolutely love the Travelify theme and have used it for two years now. Unfortunately, the only issue I continually run into is difficulties with the featured image for my posts. My website is http://www.seizetheglobe.com and I am running WordPress 4.9.3.2.
The most recent problems I have run into are:
– When older posts move to the second page of the home page(i.e. not in the top 5 recent posts and requires you to hit the, “previous” button to view previous posts), the featured image displayed as previews on social media sites changes to one of the featured images from the slider on the homepage.
-When I try to add a link from one of my posts to Flipboard, it again only displays a featured image from the home page slider, the title of my website (Seize the Globe), and the homepage description–not the blog post title, description/excerpt, and featured image. When you click the link on flipboard it then only takes you to wwww.seizetheglobe.com homepage and not the specific blog post link.
Additionally, I am running the Yoast SEO plugin (version 3.6) and usually if I want to specify a photo to display on a Facebook or Twitter post I can upload a photo to override the featured image. However, this does not seem to work once the post is “older” and move to the secondary page. Some posts work and some do not.
Lastly, the only changes I have made to my blog is in Google Webmaster tools. Under settings in the preferred domain I selected the box that read, “display URLs as http://www.seizetheglobe.com” instead of “seizetheglobe.com.” I thought this may be the issue and changed it back to “don’t set a preferred domain,” but that did not fix the problem. I’m not sure if this is causing my issue, but figured I would provide the information.
Please let me know what you think may be the problem so I can fix this. One last thing: can you please tell me what the ideal image size is for a featured image to display best on the Travelify theme?
