I attempted to restore the “uploads” folder using updraft but it just keeps running for hours and hours without showing any progress or messages in safari. When I try in firefox I get “Content Encoding Error” and it won’t load at all.
I tried unzipping the “uploads” directory into one folder and then it says that 8 (of 30) zip archives have errors. The archives are about 30 MB each.
Is it safe to use them for restoring the site through ftp even though they are broken? When I look at the extracted folder, it has a lot more pictures than my currently broken site so I thought it might be better than nothing.
I did not have this problem restoring plugins and themes. My site is hosted by godaddy and I saw that the “preview dns” can cause errors, but I can’t find where I can disable it?
Also, why are my uploads backup broken in the first place? 🙁
