I joined MonsterInsights a few years ago and always have found their customer support to be fantastic with fast and intelligent responses. I had a big problem this year using WebToffee’s premium PayPal and Stripe payment gateways after an update, because they use a web hook to process payments (it seems MonsterInsights had a patch for that previously but the update rendered it invalid). That web hook wipes GoogleIDs and means users can’t be tracked after making a purchase.
For us, this meant our Google ads TANKED. The AI’s behind them couldn’t target people who purchased because–to them–no-one sent to the site from ads was purchasing (we had all the analytics of what they did BEFORE purchasing just nothing afterwards, thus no ads events triggered).
It was a really weird problem but the team at monster insights persisted and did a lot of troubleshooting to find out what it was. Ultimately I had to change payment gateways to the WooCOmmerce one (which has been buggy in the past so not ideal) but our sales and tracking are now back to normal, so I’m very thankful for that.
Constructive criticism is that it would be nice to have another patch so WebToffee’s gateway works with monsterinsight’s tracking, as they’re a very big payment plugin for WordPress and I find WooCommerce’s support when things go wrong to be utterly useless, read from scripts ect. with people who don’t actually have the tech skills to help or understand when things go wrong. Webtoffee have great support so it would be nice to see compatibility between the two plugins (though they told me they can’t change their web hooks due to them being a paypal and stripe standard for integration apparently).
