search for categories when adding a product

hi there, hope you are well and safe
please can you help me. I have a lot of categories and when adding a new product on the plugin dashboard I see the categories are collapsible from the parent category – when I expand a category it expands all the sub-categories as well

is there a way to prevent that? so you can expand sub-categories as you go along or even add a search
