Variations repeated in order confirmation emails

Hi, recently each product variation attribute started showing up twice in our order confirmation emails. In the cart and checkout, variations only show up once (as normal) but are then listed twice in the transaction emails. The variation attributes appear both alongside the product name and then below it. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
