A most frustrating issue has arisen. Yesterday I was updating old blog posts with the WordPress editor. Then, when I hit the blue “update” button at top right, the button processed endlessly and would not update. Likewise, when I tried to edit with Elementor, I got an endless gray loading screen. Finally, I got an “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.” message in a red bar at the top of the page.
Can anyone explain what I need to do to fix this? I’ve tried clearing the cache for wordpress in my browser – not helpful. I’ve tried shutting down plugins – likewise unhelpful.
I’m confused because literally one post if worked fine, and then 5 minutes later it would not work at all. I changed nothing in the meantime.
