Hi,
I like @poetaster’s idea of showing the link in the Embed box (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/feature-request-add-link-to-original-content-within-the-embed-box/?view=all#post-15143274) since it enables users to see what provider’s content they can expect.
However, the content can’t be guessed from the URL if it isn’t descriptive (embed-provider.xy?id=5). So, how about showing the content’s title on the overlay as well? It’s available in the embed code and – in order to save space on the overlay – could be used for the link text.
Order of the overlay’s content:
1. Logo *)
2. Content title and link
3. Custom text *)
4. Text and link to privacy policy *)
5. Checkbox and label “Always allow…”
*) if data available and if embed provider is registered and enabled
What are your thoughts on this?
