Removing the product from the mini cart after applying the coupon and click on checkout button gives “Sorry, it seems the coupon “ABC” is invalid – it has now been removed from your order.” error

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
During the check out apply a coupon.
Remove the product from the mini cart by clicking the x icon in the table and click checkout button:
There are some issues with the items in your cart. Please go back to the cart page and resolve these issues before checking out.
“Sorry, it seems the coupon “xxxxxx” is invalid – it has now been removed from your order.” error appears.
Customer need return to cart and click again in checkout.
Expected behavior
The product should be removed without showing any error with the coupon and allow direct checkout page, without access cart page.
I have deactivated other plugins and confirmed this bug occurs when only WooCommerce and Advanced Coupons plugins are active.
This bug happens with a default WordPress theme active, or Storefront.
I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps above.
