Pages containing only specific posts in sidebar

Hello, this is the first post I have made to these forums so I apologise in advance if my question isn’t in the right place. 🙂

I have a web site/blog based on my travels around the world mainly, but not exclusively, cruising. At the moment my home page takes the usual blogging format of posts listed in reverse chronological order; each post contains photos, video clips etc. pertaining to that post, and linking to external photo albums as needed.

I am thinking of changing the format of my site so that each trip will have its own page, but instead of all blog posts being listed in the sidebar I would like to be able to filter the posts so they only show the posts relevant to that particular trip. The page I’ve given as an example is currently a full width page while I work out how to do this. I did find a fairly useful plugin called “Posts by Tag” which is almost perfect except that it appears on every page, and not just the page I want. So for the polar bear page I would only want the posts to show that contain the tag “polar bear” and the same would apply for other pages, e.g. a trip to see the Northern Lights would only display posts containing the tags “northern lights” or “aurora borealis”.

Does this make sense? Is anyone able to advise?

Thank you for reading!

Regards,
Debbie King
