I spent several days looking for a gallery project, one that it used the native WordPress gallery. I found a lot of bloated gallery plugins until I stumbled upon Justified Gallery which it does exactly what I need, and does it really well.
In that time, the plugin developer hadn’t added the option to remove the hover effect on the gallery images, but he was kindly enough to provide me a workaround when I asked him for help in an email.
