I’m having several issues with 5.8, many more than is usual in a 2-digit upgrade. It’s definitely slowing down the site and any editing I do. Am just waiting to discover other issues, which I have a feeling will be forthcoming.
Primary complaints so far:
• When posting and trying to use the media library, instead of all my images and content loading in, I get only 3-4 lines, then the loading stalls. In effect, the vast majority of my media files are now hidden and unavailable for use. This sucks big time!
• Been getting sporadic “page not found” alerts, sometimes works on a reload, but sometimes have to back out of the request.
• Widgets worked fine before, I could find what I wanted quite readily. Why was this block protocol unnecessarily imposed on it? The option to revert to the legacy widget editing layout should be made available.
Never was a fan of blocks, anyway. I always install the Classic Editor plugin to avoid them. I suppose if WP ever disallows Classic Editor my days using WP will be over. Would hate to see that happen.
