Onscreen notification to user when they login that they have a new PM?

I’m using bbPress and BuddyPress and have the ability for users on my forum to send each other PMs. What I want is what I see on forums that I am on, which is, upon login to the site, an icon is present on the user’s screen that shows if the user has a new PM.

Can this be done somehow with this plugin? If not, is there one that will do this?
