“Date: ” override overrides Postie Ignore Email Date admin setting

Postie is automating the posting of a club newsletter that may have a listing of events in it. Within it, the newsletter author is using the string “Date: July 4, 2021” for an event on its own line and now this newsletter is always scheduled for posting on the 4th of July. To make the newsletter post immediately, I checked the “Ignore Email Date” option in the postie admin settings, but the “Date: July 4, 2021” text within the email seems to always supercede.

Also this date line is always stripped from the newsletter text, I suppose because it looks like an email header even though it’s in the middle of the content and not in the headers. It took me a while to understand this behavior because this line was missing in the final post and it’s a bit subtle to find when comparing to the original email.

For now, I go and look for the posting and manually change its status from scheduled to posted (at least until after the 4th of July) but it would be great to have a way to completely ignore the email date header and its overrides in the content completely.
