Indispensable Plugin for New Sites with old content

I’m trying to freshen a site that was designed several years ago and uses a 3.8.x version of WordPress with customized WordPress core files and parent theme. Yeah, I know, the original programmer should have done things differently. Due to the inability to just “upgrade” the site, I’ve installed a fresh copy of WordPress 4.8, a new theme, and am now cutting/pasting content from old site to new.

That’s working fine, except for the media gallery. Despite having to process media one sub-folder at a time, and having to select only the ROOT image (because old generated images are not the same size as with new theme), I am finding this plugin absolutely indispensable.

One improvement I would make is to add a third option for date setting: manually setting the date based on the yyyy/mm value of the current server files. This would ensure that images moved via server could occupy the exact corresponding sub-folder on the “new” platform, making it less difficult to verify that posts with embedded images use the correct URL.
