Header inherits sticky header CSS

We use CSS to style and ultimately condense our header when scroll is initiated and it becomes sticky, but lately, the #site-header is inheriting that styling before the scrolling begins. Basically, we have a skinny header from the outset and a lot of white space between it and the #site-content.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to turn the plugin off because of UX, so I hope I explained this well enough.
