WHERE does yoast create the sitmap.xml files?

I seem to be having major issues with my SEO and in particular with the generation of my sitemap

Using YOAST SEO (obviously) but I cant find any .xml files in my root directory.
Using Ryte im also being told my homepage is not indexable which is annoying

So – first things first – WHERE does yoast create and store the sitemaps it creates?
