Remove “/product” permalink from Search Engines

Hi,

I have an e-commerce site. When i add a new product its permalink is: .com/product/product-url/

I want to remove “/product” from it. How can i do that?
If possible i want to do it without any additional plugin.
Under “Product permalinks”>Custom Base> I tried my adding just “./” but it went back to “product/”. (I’m using Ali woo plugin and Yoast too if that matters)
