Creating a plugin to center search results.

I’ve been trying to get the search results, both the excepted summary and the actual display when that summary is clicked on, to be centered around the first occurrence of the search term.

I need some help as to what hooks to use towards that end. For the summary, I’ve tried the filter ‘the content’, but that does not seem to get fired, at least in conjunction with one of the search plugins – ‘ajax-lite’.

Or perhaps, there is a search plugin that already has this functionality,
