Hi there,

When my newsletter subscribers receive my latest blog posts (sent via Mailchimp), the email they receive contains two copies of the complete blog post, one below the other. I thought the problem was with Mailchimp, but they told me (see below) that the RSS feed itself is the problem. Could you suggest where in WordPress, or in what plugin, I would go to fix this problem?

Jumping right into things, I replicated the campaign “Blog updates for subscribers” and took a close look at the RSS feed code. After doing a search for “There are five reasons you became a manager, ” I was able to locate the same line within a single <content:encoded> tag, as you can see in this screenshot: https://cl.ly/2P3E052E0l3O

To provide some background information, every RSS merge tags used in a campaign matches up to a specific RSS tag so that content from the feed can be displayed within a campaign. In this instance, *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* is looking for <content:encoded>, and since <content:encoded> includes duplicated content, that’s what is being pulled into the campaign. For your reference, this article has a list of all RSS merge tags and the RSS tags they relate to: RSS Merge Tags: http://eepurl.com/ciWUsf

Since our system is entirely dependent on the feed, I’m afraid that I would be limited on the troubleshooting that I can provide. At this juncture, I recommend looking into the configuration of the feed or reaching out to the feed host to see why the content is being duplicated. It appears that the feed is hosted through WordPress, so I’ve gone ahead and pulled some support links for you:
