Embedding default product category images

This is a challenge to the WC Developers. I operate a site that has over 60 Primary Categories (Product Types), over 500 Child Categories (Product Manufacturer) and 20,000 products.

I currently have to go through each of the first two categories and manually assign an image that represents that category. I must perform this process in it’s entirety at least once every two months. The images associated with the actual products display just fine and do not need any input.

Here is the challenge: Find a way of populating the first two categories with either a standard default image say a logo or ideally, have one image pulled from the product section and placed into the slot associated with that Primary and Child categories. This should all be done when an import is executed to update the site. This should also be a field that is easily recognized by any of the major importing tools on the market like WPAllImports.

Also have an option to remove the Empty Image Icon for all empty image fields. I should not have to pay a developer to fix this every time a patch is thrown out.
