Remember Me box automatically checked

Is there a way to have the plugin automatically check the “Remember Me” box?

If I use the passwordless login, I am logged out on browser close. But if I log in the normal way and select “Remember Me”, the login survives browser close. This would be a fantastic feature to have.

Please let me know if this is possible. I tried adding the following code in the plugin but have not had any success yet. Thanks!
