How is the check done?

Hello.

I’m interested in using this plugin. What it’s not clear to me is how the check is done. I mean: how, for example, do you check that that specific customer has already bought that product (ownership) which then allows him/her to buy the dependent product?

Based on what? Email? Must be logged in (therefore must be registered)? First and Last Name?
