Images and Emoticon Not Working Properly

Image uploads work in the back-end but the image links in the chat are broken.
When I use the image uploader in the chat, the images get uploaded to the Media Library and appear temporarily, get until I hit send.

But when I hit send, it’s all broken. For some reason, the link gets distorted.
For example, instead of this in the image source:

https://forexdorm.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/20200521-021145-2921424245ec5e361cae97.jpg

I got this:
https://fore<img src='https://forexdorm.com/wp-content/plugins/wise-chat/gfx/emoticons//laugh-big.png' alt='laugh-big' /></a>orm.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/20200521-021145-2921424245ec5e361cae97.jpg

I should mention that this problem applies to emoticons too. For some reason, the image url is all messed up:
