How to use a subdomain for my existing site

Hi,

I have a WP installation on http://www.myurl.com/wp.
Now I want to use wp.myurl.com as subdomain to access the site.
But somehow I can not manage to set this up correctly.

As soon as I change the WP settings and the website-URL to the subdomain, also the customizr does not show the site anymore. Accessing the site is only possible via http://www.myurl.com/wp.

Have tried to use the subfolder for subdomain setup at my provider too, but neither is doing the trick. Probably some file I need to change on my ftp to get this done?
