Twentyeleven child header stopped displaying on the home page

My theme is “Twentyeleven child.” I recently added text on the home page about an upcoming sale. All of a sudden the header, an image which displays our name, disappeared, but is still present on every other page. I don’t know how to restore it on the home page. At Appearance>Header Image, the image is present and selected.
