Country, City, and Flag functionality can be restored in the current version of Slimstat by manually updating MaxMind. First, head over to MaxMind and sign up for access to GeoLite2. An account is now required for access to the database. Next, download either the GeoLite2-City or GeoLite2-Country database, depending on which level of location resolution you were using. The database will download as a “.tar.gz” file. Extract the downloaded package and locate the file with the extension “mmdb”. Rename this file to “maxmind.mmdb” and upload it to the directory “wp-content/uploads/wp-slimstat” on your host. After this file is uploaded, new visitors will again have their location data displayed.
NOTE: Do NOT change any GeoLite settings in Slimstat. Doing so may cause the mmdb file to be deleted, and it will need to be manually re-uploaded. Please also note this is a temporary solution until Slimstat offers official support for the recent GeoLite2 changes.
