Remove search bar

Hi

Please can you tell me how to completely remove the search bar from the home page?

I cannot find where to do this in the theme editor.

I also tried installing the ‘Homepage Control’ plugin, but this does not remove the search bar when it is deselected in the new Theme->Customiser menu.
