Add to cart button not working

The add to cart button isn’t working right. When a user adds a product to the cart using the add to cart button that shows up on thumbnail hover the first one gets added, but then when a second product is added using the add to cart button, it replaces the product that is already in cart instead of adding it to the product that is already in the cart. It happens from the Products page and other archive pages when users search for a product. When the add to cart button is used from an actual product page it works fine. It’s only the add to cart button on hover over the product thumbnails.

It seems like there could be a conflict with the CDN and I’m wondering if there are any fixes that don’t involve changing the filter from add_to_cart_fragments to woocommerce_add_to_cart_fragments, or if that is the only current fix known?

OR is there something else going on that could be causing the problem like one of the other plugins conflicting with WooCommerce or something else?

WooCommerce 3.8.1
Hosted on WP Engine using their CDN and SSL
