I like the approach of TranslatePress. Instead of duplicating all the pages and post for every language, the translations are added during run time from the translation memory you have created. So when you forgot to translate a part of the side it won’t show empty but it will show the text in the original language. If a text block has been translated before you don’t need to repeat the translation. This makes it much easier to maintain a site in two or more languages. You could also use auto translate with google but I run a small site so I don’t have a need for this and haven’t used it.
TranslatePress also supports the translation of your theme and plugin’s. And everything in a separate database tables so your site is unaffected and can stay small and clean.
For me it is clear or you use a multi-site setup for multi language (so you can vary in content per language if needed) or you use TranslatePress. Great plugin. It would be better if you have a donate option for the users of the free version so they can also give some support for the good work.
