Internal 500 error after update, then renamed, now can’t enable plugin

Hi,
I’ve been using this plugin for almost a year mostly without issue (but to be fair – I’ve not updated it). But I had reports the e-mail subscription form wasn’t working (was a CORS error). So just tried to update it, and my site kept giving me a “500 Internal Error”.

Went through the back-end, renamed plug-in folder.
Now I can get back into wp_admin (*phew*).

But after renaming plug-in folder back, I cannot re-enable it?
I get the following error (which I’m wondering if explains the 500 Error after upgrade?)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'class' (T_CLASS), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or '{' or '$' in /var/www/vhosts/liquidream.co.uk/retraux/wp-content/plugins/cmp-coming-soon-maintenance/niteo-cmp.php on line 1443

I tried deleting the plugin folder and re-extracting from latest (v3.6.11) download, but same error.

Any ideas? 🤷‍♂️

(If I have to delete plugin data from DB and reconfigure – fine I guess, but I don’t wanna lose the e-mail addresses of ppl subscribing)

Thx
