My own IP Address was blocked

I received a report of IP addresses that were blocked. One of those was my own. This has only happened one time (about a month ago).

Based on other posts with similar/same question, here is info that might help someone explain why:

In the options section:

How does Wordfence get IPs is set as: Let Wordfence use the most secure method to get visitor IPs. Prevents spoofing and works with most sites.

Beneath this:
Detected IP: my own IP shows here
Your IP with this setting: again, shows my own IP
