I’m using this plugin for some time now and I’m very happy with it. At the time I was painfully made aware that a security plugin is something necessary my site was hacked and I was living a very anxious time trying to solve it. It was a old site that was abandoned for some three years and I was “modernizing” it, so I don’t know if the hack was already there. After cleaning the site I started looking for security options and was overwhelmed with the big names in the field. I’m quite aware that a security plugin is not something that you activate and forget. It’s obvious that you need to spend some time studying the options and choosing what is best for your site. But I was looking for something that a newbie, as I was (and am!), could at least understand. Can’t make good choices if don’t understand options and risks.
Well, I found this plugin and started to feel that I’m not so dense as I was led to think lol! There is a learning curve, but the authors did a good job of making it approachable and understandable.
Obviously, I spent the next two months monitoring everything, very afraid of a hack repeat. It didn’t happen. Moreover, the various options helped to reduce drastically the number of hackers trying to login, with the result that my server stopped being bogged and it and my site could recover some speed (yes, yes, it is a small server!)
If all this was not enough, this plugin avoids the kind of hype and spin that I’m starting to hate..
All in all I strongly recommend this plugin!
