Gallery won’t display as described

I recently (in the past few months) changed my WP gallery plugin to the Everest “Responsive Media Gallery Plugin for wordpress” because I wanted to have them display like this click here to see the style examples.
At the same time, I changed my site from a simple WP .com blog, to a site hosted by directnic.

Now, even months later the gallery will not display as indicated, and continues to look like the link I’ve provided with this post.

Moreso, when I change the text on images, it will not display the new wording, I assume this is related.

I am not a WP expert by any means, so I don’t know what is wrong here.
