I use the Free version of Wordfence Security on WordPress (most recent version as of 4/11/17). A few days ago, I was alerted about an Unauthorized user attempting to login using my “user_nicename” which was the same as my “display_name” but was different from my “user_login”. So I went into MyPHPAdmin yesterday and changed my “user_nicename” and “display_name.” Today Wordfence notified me of another unauthorized user attempting to login with my NEW “user_nicename” or “display_name.” So I went back into MyPHPAdmin and changed both of those names again, this time making them different from each other. I am wondering how a hacker might be able to see my “user_nicename” or “display_name” but NOT my “user_login.” Any ideas? At least Wordfence is blocking some of these hackers, but how can they find my “user_nicename” or “display_name” to begin with?
