Post hits reset to zero

I updated to the latest WordPress 5.3 and within an hour the individual post and page hit count reset to zero for every single page and post. The other Statistics features appear to still work (visitors, visit count, online count). But the hits for individual posts and pages are all reading zero — despite continued hits to the site. I’m assuming there’s a problem with the new WordPress version.
