Avoid white gaps on homepage / categories

Hi – I installed this theme yesterday and like it a lot, except for the big white gaps that appear on the homepage and in categories:

etc.

I’ve gone through all the settings and css but can’t figure out how to fix this so that posts fill in all the spaces. Help please?
