meta title tags for SEO – help needed

Hi.

I did post this in the YOAST forum a few days ago but it has been ignored.

I will ask here as it is only specific to Yoast in the sense I am using it for SEO. I would happily, really happily, relinquish Yoast and use another method.

I am confused at the following, hopefully its an obvious mistake.

My SEO Title is set to fotoscopic photography portfolio
My Meta description is also set to how I would like

But when I search with google for fotoscopic I still see what is clearly the seo words (the alt text) I have for the first image on the homepage. There is no text on the page, and for some reason google is reading the SEO (alt text) for this first photograph.

What I am seeing, as in what has always been shown is:
Skip to content. home. a solitary yellow beach hut on Miami Beach at dawn, with thundery storm clouds gathering. unposed image of fisherman carrying his rod ..

So I just removed ALL SEO alt text from each of the six images on the homepage …yet google search STILL shows the alt text for first image.

(My meta description has a green line, but seo title brown)

This is a becoming quite frustrating and I am not a fan of Yoast.

I dont really care that much about SEO (I know, unforgivable). I DO care about how my site shows up on google. Is there any other tool/ recommended way to get the snippet presented on google please?

Please assist!

Thanks,
