Hi,
I just used Add from Server to successfully add some image files to my media library which I had copied by FTP from a staging site to my live site.
A query for future though – I copied the original files + all of the WP generated thumbnail/resized versions from staging to live site by FTP.
I figured that if I had processed all these files with Add From Server (ie processing all my uploads/2019/10 folder) I would have ended up with tonnes of unwanted images in the media library – ie all the thumbnails etc would be registered as separate files in my media library. Is this the case?
I was worried this would happen, so when using Add From Server tool, I manually selected only the original files from the file list to be processed by Add From Server – but this selection process took a while! Is it necessary to do this? or does the Add to server work this out and nor duplicate entries for thumbnails etc?
