As for know there are two outcomes of a newsletter popup:
– You don’t subscribe = Subscription reminder if not subscribe
– You subscribe = Subscription reminder if subscribe
I can think of a couple of other situations where the current settings could use some more alternatives.
1: Suppose there is already a list with customers who has subscribed to the newsletter before the plugin/popup is installed. They will likely just close the popup and thus get a cookie set as they did not subscribe. Could there perhaps be an alternative/button for “Already subscribed” and a different cookie set?
2: I think it’s a distinction between some visitors just closing the popup and others really not wanting to subscribe. If you really not want to subscribe, it’s a bit rude to then serve them a new popup in the same manner/time frame you do with those just closing the popup. Perhaps an alternative/button saying “No thanks”?
What happens with those trying to subscribe but already are subscribed? I know there’s a text, but do they get a cookie?
