Awhile back I inherited the job of webmaster for a website for the group my husband sings with. I’ve had trouble with it off and on ever since I got it, with things not working, the theme causing problems, etc.
So, today I finally decided to update to the newest version of WordPress (clearly I should have thought about that a little longer – I’ve had trouble EVERY time I’ve one that). After installing the update, I went to start updating plugins, but ran into a memory allocation error. Now, when I attempt to login as an admin, I cannot access the dashboard – After the login screen, I either get the memory allocation error screen ( the exact error path varies, but is always a php memory exhausted error), or it sends me to a blank white screen.
I can see from the forums that there could be a problem with the W3 Total Cache Plugin (which I was attempting to update when the problem began), and I need to allocate more memory, but I don’t know how to do this since I can’t access the admin page.
What do I need to do to solve this problem?
