UM User Custom Fields vs wp user fields

hi, i would like to add custom fields for wp user profile. i’m testing your plugin and i would like to know the custom field created with registration form or profile are wp user fields that i can access with other tool than UM? i would like to use this um member custom field to populate a gravity form module.
