hide the “new message” button in the account menu? NO UNSET, only hide button.

Hello,
is it possible to hide the “new message” button in the account menu?

I would like it to be visible only to my administrator role.

I don’t want to use unset because after it is unusable, I would like to keep the function active but only hide the button (like in css display: none;)
