Great app but sows my site down by 0.4 sec. but could be just the code itself

This is a simple app that installs perfectly every time. It shows everything you need and all without having to go to google analytics but activated it does slow my site down by 0.4 sec and adds two requests. The question is, if I added the script instead of the plugin would it do the same or would it be slightly less. The homepage is 1.8 seconds with and 1.4 seconds without, but a larger page takes 3.9 seconds without and 3.4 seconds with. A half a second doesn’t sound like much but it huge in terms of page load speed. I will continue to use this though as it makes life so easy and I can stay better connected to my sites stats. Thanks to the creator.
