To me the most important thing is this, wordpress is hugely popular therefore is such a huge target too. Malware creators are abundant, they are smart and they have great deal of automation. When you fall victim it’s not always a run script and done thing, if the auto process can’t clean you site, it’s usually because doing so would brake you site so what Malcare does, they step in manually and then they clean it and secure it.
Many It people inherits wordpress sites, they can’t be updated automatically because they have issues, issues you’re not aware until you try to update plugins or them or the core. Those site s should be fixed but, they kept been past on to the next guy, until you’re hit, amazon writes you a polite email stating that your instance is being used to attack other sites, you had wordfence in there so what went wrong, honestly who cares, now you need to fix it and do it quickly, So I used Maldet and clamav and sure enough you find something but not everything, what next, you use tcpdump and bingo you catch the main attack infection, you kill it, your instance not being use to attack anymore but you’re far from getting out of the jungle, you discover your site is redirecting your users to place in Russia nice! you could go on forever but it needs to stop, mind you, you have worked on this 20 hours in 2 days, you have reset your passwords, secured your directories but not done yet. So I studied the options read reviews and came with the decision to use malcare. The initial scan found close to 50 infections I couldn’t find, so I clean and done right? No Malcare states they have fail the auto clean so they opened a ticket and they studied the logs, they told me some of the infections were too complicated to be removed without braking my site. 24 hours later everything was fixed. Now I have a dashboard where I can find everything I need about the security of my site, hackers are still out there, they keep trying, I see their attempt in my malcare firewall logs.
Thanks Malcare on Monday I start my vacation with one less thing in my mind.
